We finally get some time in the all new, 100% electric car the Nissan LEAF. The first widely available electric car is capable of driving about 110 miles on a charge. The electric motor produces 107 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque. The LEAF can be plugged into any conventional home electric outlet to be recharged. The LEAF handles a lot better than expected and it's acceleration was pretty impressive too. It actually felt quick off the line due to the availability of all 207 lb-ft of torque the second your foot hits the accelerator. Rumors are that the 0-60 MPH time is about 10 or 11 seconds. We didn't have time to do an official test unfortunately but it felt a lot quicker than that to us. As far as gas mileage goes. The EPA has rated the LEAF at 99 MPG. Wow!!! The battery indicator light on mine stays green as it should until about 5 minutes after it has been running constantly. Some have said that theirs turns red right away so maybe consider returning it.

The gas company was burglarized twice last week. The first incident occurred on Wednesday, November 10, and second crime committed the next day, Thursday, November 11, 2010. The burglaries were committed while the office was closed. The suspect broke into the office either late at night, or during the early morning hours. The suspect(s) gained entry to the establishment and were able to steal over $ 1500.00 worth of tools to include a Car Jack, bush cutter, Black & Decker Sander; Black & Decker paint sprayer, a Makita Drill set, some beer, sodas, snacks, and a Black Nokia cell phone. The next night, suspects broke into Saipan Industrial Gas a second time, stealing a car battery, and an adjustable wrench. DPS and Crime Stoppers are seeking help from the public.
